Nearly 200 municipality employees, engineers, road and highway managers, emergency services personnel and planning department members came out to DCTMA’s annual Municipalities Conference and Trade Show on Thursday, April 9th at Drexelbrook Corporate Events Center. This year’s theme was “Congestion Coordination & Traffic Planning Solutions.”
DCTMA welcomed Pennsylvania’s Secretary of Transportation Leslie Richards as the keynote speaker. She discussed many vital issues facing the state’s transportation network, especially the passing of House Bill 1060. Pennsylvania’s most comprehensive piece of state transportation legislation invests almost two and half billion dollars into transportation by the fifth year of the plan. Richards also discussed her support of Transportation Management Associations and focused on their importance to the ever-changing transportation industry.
In addition, there were four break-out meetings, including “Stop, Look, & Listen!” with SEPTA for answers to all public transit questions, Incident Management, and Coastal Zone Task Force. Attendees had an opportunity to network throughout the exhibit area and make contacts with businesses vital to their respective municipalities. There was also a panel discussion including John Ward, Deputy Executive Director, DVRPC; Ron Hopkins, Assistant General Manager of Operations, SEPTA; Emmanuel Anastasiadis, Traffic Operations and ITS Manager, PennDOT District 6; Lou Hufnagle, Senior Planner, Delaware County Planning Department; and moderated by Eric Ostimchuk, P.E, PTOE, Principal, Traffic Planning and Design, Inc.
During the buffet luncheon, DCTMA raffled off several great prizesnn overnight stay at Staybridge Suites and a 2-bike bicycle rack for use in a municipality.

In the next five years, billions of dollars in improvements to Pennsylvania’s highways, bridges, and public transportation systems will be completed. This official announcement came last fall as Governor Tom Corbett signed the Transportation Bill.Where will the money be spent? Where will we see improvements? What is the project timeline?These are just a few of the issues discussed at DCTMA’s 2014 Municipalities Conference & Trade Show held on Thursday, April 3 at The Drexelbrook Corporate Events Center.
The event brought together more than 100 planning officials, engineers, and other transportation industry experts from municipalities throughout Delaware County. They had a chance to network and exchange ideas for improving the county’s transportation infrastructure.
This year’s theme was “Sustaining Pennsylvania’s Mobility” and featured keynote speaker, Bradley L. Mallory, Executive Deputy Secretary for Administration for PennDOT.
The event also featured a panel discussion, breakout meetings, a luncheon, and raffle prizes.

More than 100 planning officials, engineers, and other transportation industry experts from municipalities throughout Delaware County attended the 11th Annual Municipalities Conference and Trade Show on Thursday, March 21, 2013. The event was hosted by Delaware County Transportation Management Association, and held at Drexelbrook Catering & Corporate Events Center.
This year’s theme was “Congestion Mitigation and Traffic Calming,” and featured Keynote Speaker James D. Ritzman, P.E., Deputy Secretary for Planning, PennDOT. He discussed Governor Tom Corbett’s plan to fund Pennsylvania’s transportation infrastructure. Council Chairman Tom McGarrigle gave Deputy Secretary Ritzman a warm welcome, and thanked him and PennDOT for all they do for the County and the State overall.
There was also a special panel of industry experts moderated by Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission (DVRPC) Executive Director Barry Seymour. Panelists included Dennis DeRosa and Kevin Murphy of DVRPC, Eric Ostimchuk of Traffic Planning and Design, Inc., and Manny Anastasiadis of PennDOT’s District 06. There were three breakout meetings to kick off the conference – DCTMA Board of Directors, Delaware County Coastal Zone Task Force, and Delaware County Incident Management Task Force.

Throughout the luncheon, attendees networked on the trade show floor, which featured representatives and exhibitors from a variety of organizations and businesses serving the county’s municipalities.
Lucky municipal staff members even won some great door prizes donated by the vendors, such as lottery tickets, a Delaware County themed gift basket, and the grand prize was an overnight stay and breakfast at the Staybridge Suites in Glen Mills, and two passports to the Brandywine Valley Wine Trail.

DCTMA held its annual Municipalities Conference and Trade Show on April 12. Held at Drexelbrook Corporate Events Center, the theme of this year’s event was “Small Disaster Planning and Assistance.”
Speakers offered information and recommendations to the municipalities on planning for small disasters. A special panel of industry experts, including representatives from PennDOT, SEPTA, and Delaware County Department of Emergency Services, were also on hand for a discussion. DCTMA Chairman John Nawn moderated.
Three breakout meetings were also held, including the DCTMA Board of Directors, Delaware County Coastal Zone Task Force, and Delaware County Incident Management Task Force.
