SEPTA Announces New Regional Rail Schedules Effective July 5

PHILADELPHIA (July 2, 2026) – SEPTA is advising customers that new Regional Rail schedules will go into effect on Sunday, July 5. The new schedules include some notable improvements that will translate to more predictable and reliable service, and greater capacity to major destinations.

As SEPTA continues to increase the number of train cars available for service, trains will be longer and provide more space for riders.

“Our crews are working hard to maintain our aging infrastructure and vehicles until they can be replaced,” said SEPTA General Manager Scott A. Sauer. “Last month, we reached a major milestone with 98% of Regional Rail train cars available for service, which means our riders are experiencing very minimal crowding and pass-up issues.”

Missed trips on Regional Rail were at 1% in May, down significantly from 7.5% last October.
