2020 Fall Transportation Forum

2019 Fall Transportation Forum 

The DCTMA held the Annual Transportation Forum at the Drexelbrook on October 17, 2019.  Thank you to our legislators who brought insight into the future of transportation here in Delaware County and across the State of PA.  Thank you to our speakers: State Senator, Tim Kearney; State Representative, Tim Hennessey; County Councilman, John McBlain.  Also a special thanks for our sponsors: Crozer Keystone Health System, Monroe Energy, Boles Smyth Associates, Community Transit, Republic Bank, TD Bank, Pennoni and Traffic Planning and Design, Inc.

 


2018 Annual Legislative Breakfast

The DCTMA hosted it’s Annual Legislative Breakfast at the Drexelbrook.

Thank you to our guest speakers: State Senator, Thomas McGarrigle; State Representative Maria Donatucci; State Representative, Alex Charlton; & Councilman, John McBlain who discussed Transportation Demand Management Strategies, and updated the audience on upcoming projects within Delaware County.

 


2017 Annual Legislative and Membership Breakfast

Media, PA – The Delaware County Transportation Management Association hosted its Annual Legislative Breakfast & Board Meeting Friday, Oct. 6th at Springfield Country Club.

In front of a full house, the legislators addressed transportation issues facing Delaware County, as well as across the state, and encouraged DCTMA members and other attendees to bring their concerns and ideas to the forefront. Topics discussed were airport expansion, rail improvements, and PennDOT’s ongoing work on I-95.

The panel of speakers included:
Congressman Pat Meehan
State Representative Jamie Santora
State Representative Alex Charlton
Councilman John McBlain

State Senator Tom McGarrigle was also on hand, as well as Lara Flynn, a regional representative for U.S. Senator Robert P. Casey Jr.

Following the panel discussion, the DCTMA debuted the latest “Commute I-95” video production to the Board of Directors during their regular meeting.

2016 Annual Legislative and Membership Breakfast

Media, PA – The Delaware County Transportation Management Association hosted its Annual Legislative Breakfast & Board Meeting Tuesday, October 4, 2016 at Paxon Hollow Country Club. Guest speakers addressed transportation issues facing Delaware County. They also acknowledged SEPTA for its great work handling major events, including the Papal visit and the Silverliner V repairs. The panel of speakers included:

Senator Tom McGarrigle, 26th District

Rep. James Santora, 163rd District

Councilman John McBlain, Delaware County Council

2015 Annual Legislative and Membership Breakfast

Media, PA – The Delaware County Transportation Management Association hosted its Annual Legislative Breakfast Friday, October 02, 2015 at the Towne House Restaurant in Media. Guest speakers included:

Congressman Pat Meehan, 7th  District of PA

Senator Tom McGarrigle, 26th District of PA

Rep. Tom Killion, 168th District of PA

Councilman John McBlain, Delaware County Council

The political dignitaries addressed a packed room of DCTMA members, and discussed the latest transportation issues facing the county and the state. Topics included the county’s aging bridges and roadways in need of repair, and the many projects underway to upgrade the county’s vital transportation infrastructure. They discussed how Delaware County’s vast transit network helps boost the vitality of our economy. In addition, they gave special recognition to SEPTA for their latest efforts in making the Papal Visit as smooth as possible for the Greater Philadelphia region.

All of the 50/50 event proceeds benefit a special Engineering Scholarship coordinated by DCTMA. The scholarship will be awarded to a student enrolled in an engineering program at one of DCTMA’s member colleges or trade schools. The award will be given during the 2016 Municipalities Conference and Trade Show to be held Thursday, April 7 at Drexelbrook.

2013 Annual Legislative and Membership Breakfast

DCTMA hosted the Annual Legislative and Membership Breakfast on Friday, September 27. Dozens of our members gathered at Generations Restaurant in Media for the event, which featured State Senator Dominic Pileggi. He discussed Senate Bill 1, which would provide additional funding for highways, bridges, transit agencies, railways, airports, ports, bicycle, and pedestrian programs. The regular board meeting immediately followed the breakfast. Our sponsors included Boeing, Crozer-Keystone Health System, and Republic Bank.

2011 Annual Legislative and Membership Breakfast

Meeting was held on Monday, June 6, 2011 at Maris Grove, Glen Mills, PA. This year’s annual breakfast meeting featured a presentation about transportation funding challenges in Pennsylvania by Jason Wagner, Director of Policy and Government Affairs for Associated PA Constructors. The event was a great opportunity for business leaders, engineers and municipal representatives to network and discuss commmon issues.
