Sector C and I-95/U.S. 322 Interchange Virtual Meeting Invite
PennDOT cordially invites you to attend a live virtual public meeting to learn more about transportation improvement projects along Interstate 95 between the Delaware state line and Interstate 476 in Delaware County.
This live, virtual public meeting will be held Tuesday, November 19 from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. To attend, please click on the Microsoft Teams Live meeting link close to the meeting start time. The Department’s design teams will deliver a presentation on the projects before opening the meeting to questions using the platform’s Q&A feature.
The Department will cover the following transportation improvement projects at the virtual meeting: I-95/U.S. 322 Interchange Improvement in the City of Chester and Upper Chichester and Chester townships; I-95 Chester Noise Abatement in the City of Chester and Chester Township; and projects involving I-476, U.S. 322, U.S. 13/Route 291, and Route 452.

The live virtual public meeting follows two open house public meetings held by PennDOT in the City of Chester in September to inform citizens on the above-mentioned transportation improvement projects in Delaware County.

News Releases for the Week of November 18th, 2024
Overhead Sign Construction Planned This Week on I-95 in Philadelphia
The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced that overhead sign installation is planned this week on Interstate 95 in Philadelphia. A section of Tacony Street will also close this Saturday for I-95 bridge construction.
Motorists are advised of the following travel restrictions:
- Saturday, November 16, from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Tacony Street will be closed between Aramingo Avenue and Bridge Street for overhead bridge construction. During the closure, motorists will be directed to use Harbison Avenue and Bridge Street.
- Monday, November 18, through Friday, November 22, from 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM, a right lane closure is planned on northbound I-95 between the Cottman Avenue and Betsy Ross Bridge interchanges
- Monday, November 18, and Tuesday, November 19, from 9:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, the ramp from Columbus Boulevard to northbound I-95 will be closed and a left lane closure will be in place on northbound I-95 between the Columbus Boulevard and I-676 interchanges for barrier installation. During the ramp closure, motorists will be directed north on Columbus Boulevard to the northbound I-95 on-ramp at Summer Street.
- Wednesday, November 20, and Thursday, November 21, from 9:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, a right lane closure will be in place on northbound I-95 in the vicinity of the Columbus Boulevard interchange

Paving, Bridge Repair, Roadway Construction Continue at Night Under Two Interstate 476 Improvement Projects in Delaware, Montgomery Counties
The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced that construction activities will continue at night under two separate projects to improve travel and safety on I-476, the associated on-and-off ramps and bridges in Delaware and Montgomery counties.
Motorists are advised of the following travel restrictions:
- Sunday, November 17, through Tuesday, November 19, from 6:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure will be in place on MacDade Boulevard in both directions between Bullens Lane and School Lane in Ridley Township, Delaware County, for milling and paving.
- Monday, November 18, through Friday, November 22, from 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure will be in place on sections of northbound and southbound I-476 between the I-76 and I-95 interchanges in Montgomery and Delaware counties for patching, bridge repair, and guiderail installation.
- Monday, November 18, through Friday, November 22, from 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure will be in place on eastbound and westbound I-76 (Schuylkill Expressway) between Matsonford Road and I-476 in West Conshohocken Borough, Montgomery County for bridge repair.

Bridge Inspections Scheduled on I-95, I-76 and Other State Highways in Philadelphia, Montgomery, Delaware Counties
The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced that bridge inspections are scheduled next week on Interstate 95, I-76, and other state highways in Philadelphia, Montgomery, and Delaware counties.
Motorists are advised of the following travel restrictions:
- Wednesday, November 20, and Thursday, November 21, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a left lane closure is scheduled on southbound U.S. 1 (Roosevelt Expressway) at the I-76 Interchange in Philadelphia.
- Thursday, November 21, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a moving lane closure is scheduled on westbound I-76 between the U.S. 202/U.S. 422 and the PA Turnpike interchanges in Upper Merion Township. Montgomery County.
- Thursday, November 21, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, alternating lane closures are scheduled in both directions on U.S. 422 between the Route 23 (Valley Forge Road) and the U.S. 202 interchanges in Upper Merion Township, Montgomery County.
- Thursday, November 21, from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a moving left lane closure is scheduled on southbound I-476 between the Norristown and the U.S. 30/Villanova interchanges in Plymouth and Lower Merion townships and West Conshohocken Borough, Montgomery County, and Radnor Township, Delaware County.
- Friday, November 22, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, alternating lane closures are scheduled on southbound I-95 at the Bartram Avenue/Essington Avenue Interchange in Philadelphia.
Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because slowdowns may occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.
Ongoing Restrictions on I-95:
I-95 CAP Construction to Restrict Southbound Columbus Boulevard through Mid-2025 in Center City Philadelphia
The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced that construction will reduce southbound Columbus Boulevard to a single lane at Penn’s Landing for approximately one year beginning this week, under the $329 million Interstate 95 CAP project to replace and expand the covered area over the interstate in Center City Philadelphia.
Motorists are advised of the following travel restriction:
- Beginning Monday, July 15, through mid-2025, southbound Columbus Boulevard will be reduced from three-lanes-to-two between Race Street and Market Street, and from three-lanes-to-one between Market Street and Walnut Street
The lane closures will allow crews to relocate a sewer line and construct foundations for a pier that will support the extension of the new covered area over I-95 and Columbus Boulevard.
Northbound Columbus Boulevard is currently reduced to two lanes weekdays between 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM for utility construction at that same location.
